Following the country wide uproar on the rape of a veterinarian in Hyderabad and that of 6 yr old minor in Tonk, Rajasthan, an awareness rally is being held at Udaipur on Thursday, 5 December.

The Rally, being conducted by the Center for Criminology& Public Policy, India under the Chuppi Todho Abhiyan, is initiated by the Collector of Udaipur, Anandi.

This rally will begin from the Municipal Corporation (Town Hall) at 9am and conclude at the Collectors Office.  The idea behind this rally is to build public awareness about prevention of violence against women and tackle the evolving culture of sexual violence in the country by addressing its root and structural causes.

These are the main points to be addressed in this rally:

• Create Public Awareness towards prevention of sexual crimes against women
• Throw light over the cultural changes and aspects that are leading to rape culture
• Effective Investigation and Prosecution of rape cases and policy decisions
• Role of Parents and community in combating sexual and gender-based violence

Centre for Criminology and the Udaipur administration invites participation in this rally to support this cause.
